GIV Index

The FoundationMark Grantmaker Investment Value Index (“GIV Index”) rose 6.7% in the fourth quarter of 2021, to finish the year with a 16.7% gain for 2021.

Commentary

U.S. stocks had a very strong quarter with the S&P 500 rising 11.0% over the period.  International stocks didn’t fare as well with emerging markets shares trading slightly lower and modest gains for developed markets.

One-Year GIV Index Performance Up 16.7%:  Year on year returns for U.S equities were 27.7% for the period ended September 30, 2021, while bonds fell modestly.
