What's in a FoundationMark Report?

FoundationMark reports are designed to answer a few core questions that trustees may have:

  • How does our investment performance compare to other foundations?
  • How does our performance compare to the stock market? The bond market?
  • Are there other foundations like ours? How are we doing compared to them?
  • How do our expenses compare to those of other foundations?
Below are sample pages from a FoundationMark report that show the type of analysis and information that they provide on performance, expenses, and comparisons with peer foundations.

How Does Our Performance Compare to Other Foundations?

Foundations can see their estimated performance and FoundationMark Star Rating as well as performance versus the relevant FoundationMark Index.

How Does Our Performance Compare to Public Markets?

Trustees can graphically see the effect of their cumulative performance in relation to the stock market, bond market, and other foundations.

How Does Our Performance Stack Up Versus Major Asset Classes?

Often referred to as a ‘Periodic Table of Asset Classes’, the chart below shows which asset classes fared better or worse than others as well as where your foundation’s performance fit in.

Are There Other Foundations Like Ours?
