The Grantmaker Investment Value Index (“GIV Index”) is designed to estimate the investment performance of the private foundation universe. Foundation Advocate uses historical asset allocation and investment return data drawn from over 40,000 foundations compiled by our affiliated company, FoundationMark, to construct a public market proxy for the foundation universe. The GIV Index is updated monthly.
